Hummingbird technology provide fast, highly parallel non-contact dispensing and transfer of compounds for assay assembly. Hummingbird technology transfer compounds from master plates to daughter plates for screening and reformat compound libraries from either 96 to 384 or 1536, or 384 to 1536-well format.
Features/Benefits:
The proprietary Hummingbird technology involves sipping of sample from a source plate using narrow-bore glass capillaries. Transfer occurs by aspirating sample using capillary action followed by dispensing with a pulse of air. Dispense volumes range from 25 nL to 1000 nL per transfer of operation simultaneously using glass capillaries in a cassette. The cassettes hold 96 or 384 replaceable capillaries in a format to fit a standard microtiter plate. Hummingbirds can be operated in a standalone mode or via an ActiveX interface and configured with a robotic plate handler.
