Products - Genemachines Mantis
Manufacturer: Genomic Solutions Inc.
Description:
Mantis is the optimal screening sytem for high-throughput automated picking.
The system (shown without standard enclosure) is designed to pick individual plaques and colonies quickly and accurately. With an input and output capacity of 72 plates each, the Mantis can run fully unattended for up to 14 hours, picking more than 27,000 colonies/plaques- ideal for even the most demanding projects.
GeneMachines imaging software, with graphical user interface (GUI), offers the flexibility to specify the size, roundness, proximity, and blue/white selection of colones/plaques to be picked. Statistical feedback on colonies/plaques assist users in colony selection and enhancement of upstream plate preparation.
The Mantis enables researchers to pick plaques and colonies with ease, while saving time and money. For increased versatility, the Mantis now includes powerful secondary applications such as cherry picking (re-arraying) and compression/expansion.

Mantis picking needles:
The Mantis uses a rotating picking system to increase throughput
via parallel processing of picking, inoculation, cleaning and
sterilization.

GeneMachines imaging software, with graphical user interface (GUI), offers the flexibility to specify the size, roundness, proximity and color of colonies/plaques to be picked and their output placement.

An added advantage of the software is the user's ability to load and interpret saved images. The Mantis enables researchers to pick plaques and colonies with ease, while saving time and money.

The Mantis now includes powerful secondary applications such as cherry picking (re-arraying) and replication (compression/expansion). No time consuming recalibration or hardware changes are needed; simply click on the icon representing the application you would like to run. The software then executes the steps, tracks samples, and updates plate configurations.
